24-26 September
Empark Grand Hotel
Beijing
In the wake of the Olympic Games, the International Poultry Council will hold its 2008 fall meeting in Beijing, China, on 24-26 September. The meeting will be at the Empark Grand Hotel (formerly the Golden Resources China), located between the city’s third and fourth “rings.”
Several items will be on the agenda for discussion at the meeting, including an ongoing global study on international salmonella standards and protocols, an update on the World Organization for Animal Health’s avian influenza compartmentalization program, and the impact of grain prices on global poultry production. Member organizations will also present status reports on their individual countries’ poultry industries.
The IPC Executive Committee will meet on the afternoon of 24 September, followed that evening by a welcome reception. On 25 September, the IPC General Session will get underway. In the evening, members will gather for a gala banquet. On Friday, 26 September, the general session will re-convene, and the meeting will conclude with a luncheon.
ACTIVITIES: We are working with the China Poultry Association to arrange for optional tour opportunities (at extra cost) for IPC members on Friday afternoon following the meeting, as well as a daylong tour on Saturday. More details will follow.
Registration fee for IPC members is US$500 (or €323). Room rates for the meeting are US$150 (€99).
The China Poultry Association will be the host organization for the IPC meeting. The association recommends that IPC members obtain a tourist visa for the meeting, rather than a business visa. (Tourist visas are much easier and faster to obtain.)
HOTEL REGISTRATION: Because of the Olympics in Beijing, the Empark Grand Hotel requests that IPC members make their reservations via the China Poultry Association. The association will then make the reservations with the hotel on behalf of the IPC.
REGISTRATION: To register, please complete the form below. It will be sent directly by e-mail to David Huang at the China Poultry Association:
David will send this information to the hotel. The hotel will then provide you with your confirmation, which you will need to obtain your visa.
Also, please send your registration fee via wire transfer to the IPC’s bank (information is noted below.)
DUES REMINDER: Several IPC country members, as well as associate members, have not yet paid their dues for 2008 (US$3,000 [€1,940] for country membership, and US$1,500 [€970] for associate membership) Please remit your dues as soon as possible!
