The International Poultry Council issued the following statement on March 8 during its meeting in Bangkok, in conjunction with the VIV Asia exhibition.
The International Poultry Council (IPC), a non-governmental organization comprised of groups representing more than 90 percent of the world’s commercial poultry meat production, recognizes the need for renewable fuels to replace petroleum, however, its members believe that reliance on cereal grains, specifically corn, as a primary source for the production of ethanol is counterproductive for the following reasons: (see full statement in the attached PDF file below)
